BC’s Business Administration program will introduce you to the world of business and give you a foundation in accounting, finance, and economics to build upon after transferring to a 4-year institution in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree. Business administration is the study of managing and directing business operations to achieve specific goals and objectives. It covers various areas of management such as finance, marketing, human resources, operations, and strategy. Business administration programs typically include courses in economics, accounting, management, business law, and other related areas. The goal of business administration education is to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills in individuals, as well as a comprehensive understanding of how businesses function and how to make effective decisions in a complex business environment.

The Business Administration 2.0 Associate in Science for Transfer Degree provides a study of key business concepts. Graduates with an Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) degree in Business Administration can pursue a variety of careers in the business and administrative fields. Some common career paths for business administration graduates include:

  • Office Manager: Manages the day-to-day operations of an office, including supervising staff, handling finances, and ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Sales Representative: Sells products and services to customers and develops and maintains customer relationships.
  • Customer Service Representative: Assists customers with their needs and resolves any issues they may have with products or services.
  • Marketing Coordinator: Helps plan and execute marketing strategies and campaigns and supports the development of marketing materials.
  • Human Resources Assistant: Supports the human resources department by performing tasks such as recruiting, hiring, and training employees.
