- Mission Statement: The Socialist Student Union is an organizing hub based out of Bakersfield College which aims to promote the political education, well being and liberty of the working class on campus and in our community. We believe that students and workers here in the San Joaquin Valley (like those all across the world today) have been cheated on many things vital to our lives. Be it access to food, clean water, clean air, honest wages, labor rights, protections for our most vulnerable minorities and much much more. And that if we really want to solve the issues that this system cannot, we need to start here and now. We believe in a world where popular democracy is seen all the way from our neighborhoods to our workplaces. Where one's labor is entitled to all it is owed. Where we can empower individuals to grow to their fullest potential. And that if we wanna win a world we believe in, working folk need to get educated, and organized. If any of this resonates with you, feel more than free to reach out. Land and freedom forever!
