Instrumental Music
The Bakersfield College Concert Band (MUSC B10A) and Orchestra (MUSC B12A) perform a variety of music at several concerts throughout the year. In addition, both ensembles participate in the annual Performing Arts Combined Concert. Capable musicians of all ages are welcome to participate, including non-music majors, community members, and select high school students.

Auditions and Placement
Students will demonstrate their playing and reading ability for the instructor during the first week of classes. Placement will be determined according to each student's ability and experience, and priority may be given to music majors in the Applied Music Program.
The number of wind players in Orchestra may be limited to the repertoire needs of a given semester. Additional musicians may participate in the class by special arrangement with the instructor.
Course audits are permitted if there is an instrumental vacancy that needs to be filled.
