The Research Laboratory Technology program at Bakersfield College is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career as a laboratory technician.

The program emphasizes hands-on experience in the laboratory, providing students with practical training in a variety of laboratory techniques. Students will also learn about laboratory safety and quality control, as well as laboratory management and record-keeping. Research Laboratory Technology (RTEC) refers to the field of science that focuses on the operation and management of laboratory facilities, equipment, and procedures.
