Application Procedures

Application Dates
The Nursing & Allied Health office must receive all application forms during the respective application period. Forms received prior to or after these dates will not be accepted.
- June 1st - June 15th for Fall course
- October 1st - October 15th for Spring course
- March 1st - March 15th for Summer course
Instructions:

Applicants must submit a complete application with ALL listed forms & requirements to be considered for selection in the Nurse Assistant Training Program.

Submit copies of additional requirements, do not submit original documents.

Submit a completed application to the Nursing & Allied Health office located in Room 178 of the Math-Science Building (MS-178) at the Panorama campus OR by mail. Email and FAX submissions will not be accepted.

Applications and support are only valid for the application period that you apply for. If not selected, you will need to reapply. There is not an established waitlist at this time.
If you are not a Bakersfield College student:
- Apply for Admission to Bakersfield College either in person at the Admissions & Records office or online.
- Complete all requirements listed above
Forms & Required Documents
- CPTTP Application
- Print and complete all sections. The application must be legible.
- Program Demographic Information and Authorization to Release Information form
- Transcripts
- Submit unofficial or official Bakersfield College transcripts and transcripts from all other colleges attended showing completed prerequisite courses.
- All applicants must include these transcripts in the application packet, regardless of evaluation status.
- Proof of Immunizations
- MMR - One of the following is required: 2 doses of the MMR Vaccine OR Positive Titers for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (Blood Test)
- Varicella - One of the following is required: 2 doses of the Varicella Vaccine OR Positive Varicella Titer (Blood Test)
- Hepatitis B - One of the following is required: 3 doses of the Hepatitis B Vaccine OR 2 doses of Heplisav-B OR Positive Hepatitis B Titer (Blood Test)
- Tdap: Tdap vaccination dated within the last 10 years is required
- COVID-19 vaccination - SUMMER 2026: Not Required
- Additional Requirements - Flu Shot for current season (Not required for SUMMER session/Fall courses can complete after August 1st)
- CPR / American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) card for Healthcare Providers (MEDS B52 satisfies this requirement)
Requirements once accepted to start CPTTP program
- Drug Screen (date assigned when selected)
- Background Check (date assigned when selected)
- Physical Exam (must be completed no earlier than 60 days before the program start date but completed by the 1st day of class)
- Live Scan (will be completed once in program)
- TB Test 2-step PPD/TST, implanted exactly 21 days apart or QuantiFERON/T-Spot test (Blood Test) (must be completed or started prior to application deadline)
Enrollment Selection
Once applications are determined eligible, placement will be based on preferred location from application selection(s). If the number of applications exceed the seating availability for a class site, there will be a random drawing of names by the Director, Assistant Director and one assistant.
ONLY eligible applicants that have been selected and complete the intake requirements will be cleared to enroll in MEDS B55 courses.
If not selected, you may be asked if you would prefer placement at another site of your choice. If you are not interested in this option, or the seats are filled, you will need to reapply during the next application period. There is not an established waitlist at this time.
