Fees & Parking


Although the Levan gift covers most of our startup and overhead expenses, we must charge fees in order to recover our direct instructional costs and any special materials or transportation costs associated with a course.


Fees may be refunded until one week before the beginning of a course. Exceptions to this include courses for which transportation or other reservations, as well as materials purchases, must be made well in advance. An example of this is Classical Cuisine II.


Parking permits are required for parking on campus. You can purchase a guess pass or a permit for the whole term for a flat fee. The Levan Institute office cannot assist you with this procedure since it is not responsible for issuing these permits. Parking permit fees are not refundable. To do this, go to My Campus Permit Bakersfield College  and follow the directions. You will be asked to enter your last name and a student ID. This ID was assigned and was emailed to you as part of your confirmation when you registered for your class or classes.

While your permit application is being approved, a temporary parking permit will be emailed to you for immediate parking privileges in the student lots.  Please print the temporary permit and place it on the dash of your vehicle. Your regular parking permit will arrive via mail within 5-7 business days.
