Biography

Vanessa S. Terry is an accomplished applied anthropologist with a specialization in organizational or business anthropology. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to both the corporate and academic arenas. Prof. Terry leverages anthropological principles to offer deep insights into consumer behavior, organizational culture, market trends, and helping businesses find solutions to problems that keep leadership up at night. This use of anthropology helps organizations innovate and thrive in competitive landscapes.

In addition to her work in the private sector, Prof. Terry is a dedicated lecturer. She is passionate about disseminating anthropological knowledge with her students through active learning experiences and more. While her master's in science is in cultural anthropology, she appreciates human diversity in all its forms and complexities. She enjoys watching students discover anthropology in any of its forms. Whether it is physical, linguistics, archaeology, or cultural, the anthropological perspective helps students bridge differences. She received her MS in Anthropology from the University of North Texas and she teaches all the anthropology courses offered here at Bakersfield College.
