Claudia Ortiz Rojas
Biography
Claudia Ortiz Rojas is a Department Assistant at Bakersfield College, currently supporting the Apprenticeship Program under the Instruction division. Previously, she provided vital support to four student programs: Native American, AB540, A2MEND, Men of Color, and Foster Kinship, where she was known for her dedication to student success. Her journey has been shaped by perseverance, as she has overcome many personal and professional obstacles to get where she is today.
Claudia is a proud graduate of Bakersfield College, where she earned an Associate of Arts in Spanish. She is currently attending Cal Poly Humboldt, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Leadership Studies with a minor in Sociology, and is on track to graduate in Spring 2027. She plans to continue her education by earning a Master’s in Educational Counseling.
Before her work in education, Claudia was a Suicide Bereavement Support Group Facilitator and founded the Butterfly Effect Foundation for Suicide Prevention in 2019, reflecting her deep commitment to mental health advocacy. She also spent six years in Human Resources Management, where she developed strong leadership and organizational skills.
Recently, Claudia launched a TikTok platform called The Real Talk, which she plans to expand into a podcast with her son, sharing their life experiences and day-to-day stories. Claudia remains passionate about empowering others and creating inclusive spaces where all individuals feel seen, valued, and supported.
