About Suzanne

Suzanne Aguirre is an Adjunct Reference Librarian at BC Arvin Educational Center. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Film & Electronic Arts: Theory & Practice of Cinema at CSU Long Beach in 2015. While working as a library technician for Bakersfield City School District, Suzanne received her Master of Library and Information Science at San Jose University in 2023.

Her professional interests include archival collections in film, photography, and fine art, as well as the preservation, curation, and exhibition of those collections in museums. Additionally, Suzanne is passionate about teaching college students the ability to find, evaluate, and use credible sources effectively for their research. She is an advocate for teaching media literacy so that the general population can make better informed decisions by analyzing media messages across all platforms. When not at work, Suzanne enjoys fostering cats, watching films, and practicing self-care.
