About Renee

Renee Acupan Lovegreen is a Bakersfield-based musician and French horn educator. A lifelong Bakersfield resident and graduate of Stockdale High School, Renee has performed throughout California as both a soloist and ensemble musician. She has been featured as a soloist on Kern Valley Public Radio and has toured with the Bakersfield Youth Symphony.

Renee studied French horn with Jenny Kim while attending Chapman University, where she earned a double major in Music and Psychology. Her performance experience includes Disney Concert Productions of Beauty and the Beast and Pixar in Concert. Other performances include Sweeney Todd, Cosí fan tutte, and Carmina Burana. She currently performs with the Bakersfield Winds and has also performed with the Beale Park Band, Nutcracker Orchestra, Shafter Symphony, and Tehachapi Symphony.

As an educator, Renee is committed to helping students develop both their musical abilities and their confidence as performers. Her former students have performed at Carnegie Hall and earned music scholarships, including full-ride scholarships, to four-year universities.

Renee’s goal as a teacher is to help each student reach their full potential on the French horn and in music while supporting the individual path they choose to pursue, whether that leads to collegiate study, professional performance, or simply a lifelong appreciation for music.
