Biography

Leah has been serving women in her community for over 26 years. She has had various roles as a doula, new parent and lactation educator, lactation consultant, registered nurse, and nurse educator. Leah is passionate about evidence-based practice and frequently gives presentations to anyone who will listen. As a lifelong learner, she has earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing, a Master’s Degree in nursing education, and a Doctor of Nursing degree from Touro University, Nevada. Her process improvement project was decreasing the cesarean section rate in the low-risk population. In 2023 she is proudly completing her second master’s degree in Nurse-midwifery and hopes to bring this option to Kern County families. Leah is married to a patient man who accepts her fascination for all things birth-related. Together they raised five children and have two granddaughters.
