John Calanchini

Biography

Pianist/Keyboardist/Organist John Calanchini earned dual B.A.s in Music Education and Composition from Berklee College of Music in 2012. His principal instructors were Helen Rummelsburg, Bruce Katz, and Yakov Gubanov. John has earned a reputation as an in-demand performer and internationally touring artist as part of bands such as Las Cafeteras and ECNO in venues such as Joes Pub in New York City and Runes in Bø, Norway, and at festivals such as the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. John joined the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra in 2016 and was promoted to Principal Pianist in 2020. Additionally, John owns and operates Calanchini Music, a Bakersfield music-education centered enterprise.
