Biography
A Bakersfield native, John Calanchini is Bakersfield College’s Instrumental Department Collaborative Pianist, as well as the co-founder/musical director of the Chicano/Polyrock quartet “Art and the Resistance”, which he led to inclusion on Hit Paraders' inaugural season of “No Cover”. John also is the principal pianist of the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since 2017. John holds dual bachelor's degrees in Music Education and Composition from Berklee College of Music.
