Biography
Dr. Christian Okofo Atta Anokye is an Associate Professor of Hospitality at Bakersfield College. He earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Hospitality and Retail Management at Texas Tech University, where he also served as a Graduate Part‑Time Instructor teaching courses such as Hotel Operations, Lodging Operations Management, and Sales in the Service Industry.
Dr. Anokye brings extensive international industry experience to his teaching. He has worked as a Food and Beverage Assistant Manager at the Atlantica Mikri Poli Hotel in Kos, Greece, and later at Padthai Workbar in Budapest, Hungary. These positions provided him with hands‑on expertise in hotel operations, service quality, leadership, and guest experience across diverse cultural settings.
His research focuses on hospitality employee well‑being, internal corporate social responsibility (CSR), and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into hospitality operations to support service innovation and organizational performance.
With a strong international academic and professional background, Dr. Anokye is deeply committed to student success. He strives to help students master core hospitality concepts while envisioning clear pathways to meaningful and rewarding careers in the rapidly evolving global hospitality industry. He currently teaches Introduction to Hotel Management, Introduction to Hospitality Management, Hospitality Cost Control, and Hospitality Law.
