About Brian

Brian J. Sivesind (Director) is a Professor of Theatre at Bakersfield College and the Artistic Director of the Kern Shakespeare Festival. He has a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre Directing from UC Irvine. He has directed thirteen shows at BC over the last five years including past KSF productions of Hamlet, Julius Caesar, and Henry V. Brian has been acting and directing for 25 years at venues across town including CSUB (with his Shakespeare troupe Illusions of Grandeur), Stars Theatre, The Spotlight Theatre, and The Empty Space, a theater he founded in 2003. He has worked professionally at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and South Coast Repertory.
