The Jones Art Gallery at Bakersfield College is dedicated to showcasing a diverse range of contemporary visual art while supporting student learning, creative exploration, and community engagement. The gallery hosts rotating exhibitions featuring Bakersfield College students, Kern County high school students, faculty, and guest artists.

The Panorama Invitational is an annual exhibition that showcases artwork of Kern County High school students. Each year, students' works are selected by their teachers for outstanding craftsmanship and artistic interpretation. Featuring a diverse range of media, including painting, sculpture, and multimedia creations, the Panorama Invitational provides a platform for emerging artists to share their perspectives and skills with the broader community.

Panorama Invitational | 2025
Exhibition Dates: February 3 - March 6, 2025
The 2025 Panorama Invitational was a juried exhibition celebrating the exceptional talent of Kern County high school students. Featuring works selected for outstanding craftsmanship and artistic interpretation, the exhibition highlighted a diverse range of media including painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
The opening reception took place on Thursday, February 6, 2025, and welcomed students, families, educators, and community members to celebrate student achievement and creativity.

Angel Lesnikowski
Director, Jones Art Gallery
Angel Lesnikowski is a contemporary artist, professor, and the Director of the Jones Art Gallery at Bakersfield College. She holds a Master of Arts in Art from California State University, Fresno, where she graduated with distinction.
Her artistic practice explores themes of mortality, human rights, and feminist advocacy through painting, mixed media, and installation. Lesnikowski has exhibited widely throughout California and serves on the Council of 100 committee for the Fresno Art Museum.
As Gallery Director, she is committed to expanding exhibition opportunities, strengthening community partnerships, and creating accessible, professional gallery experiences for students and visitors alike.

Mission Statement
The Jones Gallery is committed to showing a diverse range of visual art produced by contemporary artists living and working outside of Kern County with annual shows devoted to the artworks of Bakersfield College art students, Kern County High School art students (The Panorama Invitational) and a biannual show of the work of the Bakersfield College Fine Arts Faculty.
