Certificate Application Requirements

Step 1: Request Certificate Application

If your certificate application is not listed below, request a Certificate Application visit Career Education Department in FACE 16. Questions? Contact (661) 395-4402 or email certificates@bakersfieldcollege.edu

Step 2: Complete Certificate Application

Application will not be accepted if courses are IP (In Progress) or if grades have not been posted in MyBanWeb or your Web Transcript.

Step 3: Submit Your Certificate Application

Once the application is complete, you have three options for submitting (just use 1 option):

Option 1

Submit your Certificate Application in person to the Career Education Office FACE 16.

Option 2

Submit a completed scan of your certificate application to our email address listed above

Due to FERPA Regulation emailed application will only be accepted from your Bakersfield College email address.

Example: janee.doe1234@email.bakersfieldcollege.edu

Include BC ID in Subject: @00123456

Option 3

Mail it to:

Transfer Credit/Units

If you have units/credits from another regionally accredited institution/college, submit Official Transcripts from these colleges before the semester is over or when you see your final grades posted from that college.

  1. Indicate on the Certificate Application that you have transfer credit/units in order for your evaluator to be aware of these units.
  2. Department Chair or Faculty Lead must complete: 1 Evaluation, 2 Substitution, or 3 Waiver section on Certificate Application.

Certificate Award

Students can expect to receive their certificate in approximately 8-12 weeks from the time that it is processed.  If you requested your certificate to be picked up, you will be notified at the phone number you provided on the application.  If you requested to have your certificate mailed it will be sent to the address provided on the application. If you need to update your phone number/address please contact the Career Education Department (661) 395-4402. The Career Education Department is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen certificates once they leave the Career Education Department.

  • Certificate of Completion (COC)
  • Job Skills Certificate (JSC)
  • Non-Credit (NC)
