Renegades Celebrate Homecoming 2026

Thursday, October 22, 2026
Last week was Homecoming Week at Bakersfield College, and Renegades celebrated with a series of fun events and activities. This year’s theme was ‘Now That’s What I Call Homecoming’, drawing inspiration from iconic genres like musicals, country, jazz, rock, and disco. The festivities continued through the weekend with the Homecoming Parade, Tailgading, and an exciting football game at Memorial Stadium.
Each day offered a different activity, and students were encouraged to put together teams to earn points for prizes throughout the week. On Tuesday, students had the opportunity to participate in a line dancing workshop. Students had a fun time expressing themselves through a variety of line dancing steps and moves. On Wednesday evening, everyone gathered in the campus breezeway for a ‘Night of Jazz’, which featured music, mingling and a special live performance by the BC Jazz Department. On Friday, students danced the night away at the Silent Disco – a unique dancing experience where each participant wears wireless headphones and dances to the music that they are hearing.
On the day of the homecoming game, Renegades of all ages got together in the Memorial Stadium parking lot for Tailgading, which featured decorated homecoming booths and the annual homecoming parade. The night concluded with an exhilarating football game where our Renegades faced the Hornets from Fullerton College. It was a close, back-and-forth game, but the Renegades scored with 1:30 left in the fourth quarter to seal the victory, 41-37. It was the perfect ending to an amazing week.
Thank you to everyone who worked hard to make Homecoming Week 2026 the best one yet! Congratulations to the Renegade Football team on your incredible victory!
