Event Spotlight: Alumni/Homecoming BBQ

At the 2025 Homecoming BBQ, the Bakersfield College Archives proudly presented a display celebrating the traditions and spirited legacy of BC’s athletic and student life. This unique exhibit featured a curated selection of artifacts that paid tribute to the longstanding pride and pageantry of homecoming festivities. Visitors were able to view original marching band uniforms that once paraded across Memorial Stadium, cheerleading memorabilia including a vintage PA system once used to rally the crowd, and football programs documenting iconic games and players from years past. Also on display were items honoring the elegance and tradition of the homecoming court, highlighting the deep-rooted community involvement and student leadership that have defined BC's legacy. The exhibit served not only as a nostalgic journey for alumni but also as a reminder to current students of the vibrant history that continues to shape the Renegade spirit today.

The Archives supported BC’s sports news broadcasts by sharing historical artifacts during the shows, allowing viewers to enjoy and connect with the college’s rich athletic and campus history from wherever they are.
