Arhives tent featuring artifacts related to Hispanic Heritgae monthThe Bakersfield College Archives were honored to participate in the campus celebration of Hispanic Heritage Day, held on the lawn in front of the library. The Archives proudly showcased the rich history of the Chicano Studies Program, highlighting its lasting impact on student empowerment and cultural education at BC. The event was a vibrant celebration of Hispanic culture, featuring live music, delicious food, classic lowriders, and spirited dancing. A highlight of the day was an inspirational speech by civil rights icon Dolores Huerta, whose words energized the crowd and honored the ongoing legacy of activism and cultural pride. The Archives were proud to support this meaningful event, helping preserve and share the stories that shape our community.
