Bakersfield College is proud to celebrate Vice President of Student Services César Jiménez, who has been recognized as one of Bakersfield’s 20 Under 40.

At 39, César has already built a career defined by service and community impact. Born and raised in Chicago, he came to Bakersfield in 2023 and quickly found a home here, embracing the city’s mix of opportunity and small-town connection. “I have been loving every single moment living in this great city,” he says.

Beyond his leadership at BC, César is deeply engaged in the community. He serves with the Bakersfield East Rotary Club, which provides scholarships, youth mentorship, and vital partnerships, and is part of Kingdom Men of Action, a network supporting men through mentorship and wellness. Earlier in his career, he worked with the Los Angeles County Probation Department, creating programs for youth in juvenile halls to help reduce recidivism.

Family is central to César’s life. He and his wife, Lissette - his college sweetheart and biggest supporter - have been together for more than 16 years and share their home with five rescue dogs. He credits his mother, siblings, and late father-in-law, Juan M. Soliz, as guiding influences who taught him the importance of roots, resilience, and giving back.

César describes himself as empathetic, caring, principled, and humble. His inspiration comes from seeing students achieve their dreams. “Education is the greatest equalizer,” he says. Bakersfield College is fortunate to have César’s leadership, passion, and heart guiding our work to support students and transform lives.
