After a nearly five-year hiatus, the vibrant Latination art exhibition returned to downtown Bakersfield. Hosted at the Arts Council of Kern earlier this month, the exhibition featured more than 100 works from artists from Kern County and throughout the state. The two-day festival was a lively tribute to Latino culture and featured musical performances, lasso demonstrations, food trucks, and more.

Diego Gutiérrez Monterrubio, Bakersfield College Adjunct Art Professor, had three of his art pieces on display during the exhibition. The three paintings were from his series “La Fusión Tres Culturas c/s” and showcase the unique perspective of Chicano, Mexican, and Mexican American culture in California and the United States.

Congratulations to Diego for the inclusion of his paintings in the Latination Art Exhibition and for his contributions to the Art Department at Bakersfield College and the local art community.
