Bakersfield College’s campus was filled with excitement and anticipation this week, as the Renegade community celebrated the start of the Fall 2025 Semester. New and returning students filled the campus as they geared up for the first week of classes.

During the week, students had several opportunities to participate in a variety of Welcome Week Events that helped them connect with fellow Renegades and acclimate to college life. This included Welcome Tents with free coffee and donuts, an afternoon of video games and board games, a student art gallery, an evening of karaoke, and more.

The Welcome Week events will conclude with the Student Involvement Festival on Thursday, September 4, at 9:00 AM at the Renegade Crossroads. This annual event provides students with the invaluable opportunity to connect with peers, explore campus programs, and learn more about becoming active members of BC and the surrounding community. Last year’s festival was attended by more than 6,000 students and featured 50+ local businesses and organizations.

We are also excited for the upcoming Renegade Football Season. The first home game of the season is Saturday, September 6, at 4:00 PM at Memorial Stadium, as our team faces Allan Hancock. There will be five (5) home games this season, including the annual Homecoming game on October 11th, which will feature special homecoming activities for students and alumni.

Administration, faculty, and staff are all excited to launch a new academic year and look forward to seeing students back at all BC locations.

It’s not too late to enroll and register for courses! Please visit our service offices to get things started – take that next step for a brighter future and join the Renegade community!
