New Student Convocation 2024

Bakersfield College will be hosting the annual New Student Convocation on Tuesday, August 20, 5:30PM to welcome new students and their supporters. Traditionally convocation means “calling together”, meaning students are called to become part of the Renegade community. New Student Convocation is a critical experience for new students where they get to receive important information and critical resources, learn about opportunities to get involved on campus, and gain keys for success.

Convocation activities include a Bridge to BC Family Scavenger Hunt, live performances, free dinner, and more! Families and supporters will join their students to explore some of our campus resources. Students who turn in completed Scavenger Hunt cards by 6:30 PM could win a prize!

• Tuesday, August 20, 2024
• Check-in, Dinner, Open House, Student Resource Fair: 5:30PM - 6:45PM
• Faculty and Staff Processional: 7:00PM
• New Student Welcome Ceremony: 7:13PM
• Outdoor Theater, PAC Building
• All registered students receive a special BC item at the end of the event.
