Shaping the Future of Industry: BC’s Manufacturing Day

Bakersfield College hosted their 3rd annual Manufacturing Day on Friday October 20th, 2023.  Manufacturing Day was established to showcase diverse career opportunities within the manufacturing industry. Over the next decade, manufacturers will need to fill 4.6 million jobs across the U.S. These are jobs that are high skilled, high tech, high paying and in demand.

Over 1,200 students throughout Kern County participated in this year's event to allow them to explore the opportunities within manufacturing. Through this annual event, Bakersfield College was able to provide employers the opportunity to address the skill labor shortage, connect with
future generations and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.

Manufacturing Day wouldn't be possible without the support from our industry partners and their sponsorships. This year our industry sponsors helped us raise over $15,000 for the event.
