I believe that Bakersfield College offers many opportunities for international students to learn and grow before transferring their education to the next level. Bakersfield College was my first choice due to its affordability compared to other colleges and universities in the United States. The myriad of support services that Bakersfield College offers for its international students is quite impressive. From international student orientation to academic advising, English language support, and cultural integration programs, these services greatly impacted my decision when considering studying abroad. The most rewarding aspect of my experience studying at Bakersfield College is interacting with diverse students and faculty at Bakersfield College and experiencing American culture. It broadened my perspectives, helped me develop a global mindset, and fostered lifelong friendships and connections. Everyone was so lovely and kind, the faculty and the students, and they will help you to find what you are looking for as an international student here."

What inspired me to pursue both human biology and nursing majors at Bakersfield College was the multiple opportunities that they offer to undergraduates; the accessibility to get academic counseling, tutoring, and also the different student programs you can be part of. It is an honor to be part of the International Student Organization. I got the chance to meet lots of people from all over the world and it mesmerizes me every time that they share their stories with me, most of them leaving home to pursue what they are passionate about so far away from home. It shows the resilience, persistence, and sacrifice that we have put in throughout the semester. One of the most rewarding aspects of my experience at BC was how they have helped me in my personal development and career advancement. The most important advice that I would give to someone who would like to study at BC as an international student would be to believe in themselves. It is definitely a tough road, but by believing and loving yourself, it will be easier for you to thrive and achieve your goals. I am extremely grateful for the choices I have made in the past years, and for all the unconditional support that BC and the International Students Affair Office has given me.
