The Astronomy program offers three astronomy courses that satisfy all General Education certifications (BC, CSU Breadth, and IGETC): Physics of the Cosmos, Solar System, and Life in the Universe.
Professor Nick Strobel maintains the Astronomy Notes website (astronomynotes.com) as a resource for astronomy students and faculty across the nation. The class website can be found on the Canvas platform accessed through InsideBC.
The William M Thomas Planetarium opened in 1962 and was formally dedicated in January 1963. The facility provides shows for more than 4,500 K-12 students per year.
The upgraded planetarium was named after Rep. Bill Thomas, and was dedicated on Nov. 2, 2006.
