Students who enter the Fire Technology program at Bakersfield College receive the education and support that is important for success. Each student will gain knowledge and skills needed to become a firefighter, gain employment in the public or private sector fire service, achieve career promotions, receive a degree or gain California State certifications.
The mission of the Department of Fire Technology is to reduce the burden of fire losses on life, property and the environment, by providing the highest quality of fire science-based education, research and outreach in the fire service, and in fire-related safety, health and environmental issues.
