About College Safety

Bakersfield College is a dynamic hub for diverse communities. The College Safety department facilitates the support of a safe and secure environment in our pursuit to provide educational opportunities and valuable life skills to our students, faculty, and staff. College Safety provides security, safety training, emergency response, and parking enforcement for all of our campus locations.

Our Officers

Our trained security officers have received a minimum certification in meeting the requirements of California Penal Code 832 by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards & Training. They are trained and certified by the California Bureau of Security & Investigative Services to meet the requirements set forth in California Education Code 67381.

College Safety Officers receive continual professional training in first aid, CPR, emergency response, disaster preparedness, safety, and security. Upon employment, they also complete the Bakersfield College Field Training Officer program.
