The program provides a broad general experience in the arts and science to develop an individual with a well-rounded education, and a core of basic courses which furnish the student with a perspective of the scientific and professional area of forestry, natural resources, fisheries and wildlife.
The pre-forestry, resource conservation and wildlife management program at Bakersfield College should conform to the recommended program as prescribed by the school to which the student wishes to transfer.
Students planning to go to work after completing a two-year degree should complete the Associate in Science degree. Career opportunities include forestry, fishing industries and wildlife management.
To Achieve the Associate in Science
Upon completion of the following courses with at least a ‘C’ grade in each course, the student will be awarded a Forestry Associate in Science.
To Transfer Coursework
A minimum of 31 semester units in the major with a grade of ‘C’ or better while maintaining a minimum grade point average of at least 2.0 in all California State University transferable coursework.
