Dr. Anthony Culpepper's background includes 25 years of executive experience in both corporate and academia; profit and non-for profit models.
As a licensed CPA, CMA, CFM, and EA, I have served in several executive positions in corporate ranging from Controller to CFO/Vice President of Finance. I have been serving as a member of the board of non-profit organizations for over 20 years. I have been the Vice Provost of Faculty Affairs at Ashford University, Dean of the Colleges of Business Administration and Information Systems at Trident University, Dean of the College of Business and Management at DeVry University, Dean of the Keller Graduate School, and Dean (interim) of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at DeVry University.
My academic accomplishments include a Professorship at Ashford University, a mid-tenure track professorship as an Irvine Scholar of Accounting at Pepperdine University, Professor of Accounting, Business Administration and Organizational Leadership at Trident University, and an adjunct Professor of Accounting at the University of La Verne. I hold several degrees; Ed. D of Organizational Leadership (Pepperdine University) and Executive MBA (Graziadio School of Business and Management); BS (CSU Dominguez Hills); AA (Long Beach City College).
Also, I have significant experience in accreditation and assessment gained from a variety of WASC and AACSB development workshops. Also, I have been serving as a WASC evaluator for several years.
As the Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services, I oversee the team that focuses on the sustainability of the learning environment created at Bakersfield College.
The team’s mission is: “The Finance and Administrative Services department creates a student learning environment that is fiscally sustainable, structurally usable, publicly visible, and securely accessible. Our department focuses on enhancing a learning environment that can nurture the short-term and long-term aspiration of the students, faculty, staff, and supportive constituency of Bakersfield College.”
The department uses the term FAS Leadership as an expression of motivation to proactively look for opportunities to be fiscally responsible while branding the campus through event planning; securing the campus for the safety of all its constituencies; building and creating functional facilities.
