In Summer 2021, Dr. Zav Dadabhoy was appointed Interim President of Bakersfield College. His leadership guides the college in strategically developing educational pathways for a large, diverse student population while responding to future workforce needs in the region. Dr. Dadabhoy's vision for Bakersfield College is driven by a deep commitment to student success and equity.
Prior to serving as Bakersfield College’s Interim President, he was the Vice President of Student Affairs and the senior most member of the Executive Team since Nov 2012. In this role, his responsibilities included program management and supervision of 140 faculty and professional staff, and direct budget oversight of $50 million plus management of $80 million in pass-through disbursements.
Dr. Zav Dadabhoy began his career in higher education as the Chief Student Affairs Officer at Colorado State University, a HSI (Hispanic Serving Institution) and master’s-degree granting public university. Dr. Dadabhoy has taught at the undergraduate (Sociology, First Year Experience) and doctoral (Educational Leadership) levels. He earned his doctorate (Ph.D.) in higher education leadership from the University of Colorado, and he has a M.A. and B.A. in organizational behavior from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Dr. Dadabhoy has numerous publications and presentations at national conferences to his credit and is active in state-wide and national professional organizations. He previously served as the President of the California Chief Student Services Officers (CSSO) Association.
