Bakersfield College Presents
Bakersfield College’s Pre-Law Program and BC’s Women’s History and More (WHAM) Committee welcome you to join the college community as we honor Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Bakersfield College values diversity and a supportive learning community that fosters an understanding of an array of figures and moments throughout history to help students and our community engage in discussions. The program originally aired on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 5:30 p.m.
“United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has left a lasting impact in our nation. Historically, she will be remembered as a powerhouse who used her wealth of judicial knowledge and legal skills to better women and gender equality. Her strong independence, thanks to her mother’s influence, and often being one of the few women in different moments of her life obviously shaped her early legal profession, academia work and her 27 years on the U.S. Supreme Court, says Olivia Garcia, a BC History Faculty and WHAM Committee Member. “I hope to see our community come together to give tribute to RBG and her steadfast personal commitment to making this country a better, more equal place for everyone.”
