The main campus of Bakersfield College, built in 1956, is located on a beautiful 153-acre site on Panorama Drive in northeast Bakersfield. For more than 100 years, Bakersfield College has proudly served the community with educational programs relevant in today’s economy which are also vital to local industry. As times have changed, Bakersfield College has modernized our courses, programs, and equipment to keep pace with evolving advancements.
The Panorama campus is home to buildings such as the Grace Van Dyke Bird Library and Simonsen Performing Arts Center, the college administration, including the President’s Office and the Bakersfield College Foundation. The campus includes a gymnasium; a culinary training facility with restaurant, and agricultural labs. It offers a robust list of workforce certifications, programs, and an array of student services including admissions, advising, financial aid, disability support services, career and employment resources.
In November of 2016, Kern County citizens voted to pass Measure J, a $502 million bond which open the door to funding for needed improvements of the Bakersfield College Campus. We have begun transforming our campus, meaning we are busy with construction on our campus. Keep up to date with construction as we create A Better BC .
