The general purpose of the program in Business Administration at the university and state college is twofold. First, it is organized to help students to develop a broad understanding of our economy and our society in order to serve as a basis for responsible administrative and executive positions in business and government. Second, it offers the opportunity for students to acquire skills in specialized and professional types of employment.
Since requirements vary, the current catalog of the chosen college or university should be consulted for specific requirements of the School of Business Administration.
This suggested program will meet most of the lower division requirements at the California state colleges and universities as well as fulfilling the major requirements for the Associate in Arts degree from Bakersfield College.
To Achieve the Associate in Arts
Upon completion of the following courses with at least a ‘C’ grade in each course, the student will be awarded a Business Administration Associate in Arts degree.
To Transfer Coursework
A minimum of 25-26 semester units in the major with a grade of ‘C’ or better while maintaining a minimum grade point average of at least 2.0 in all California State University transferable coursework.
