On behalf of our Bakersfield College Pre-Law Program ("2+2+3"), we cordially invite you to our very special BC Law Day Conference on Friday, April 28th from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Indoor Theater. This year's theme is: "Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the 14th Amendment". Our event will place an emphasis on the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Brown v. Board of Education (1954), the landmark case that focused on the nation-wide legalization of racial desegregation. Attached is the event flyer.
The BC Law Day Conference will initiate with a Historical Commentary on Mendez v. Westminster (1946) & the National Legacy of Brown v. Board of Education (1954) by our very own Dr. Oliver A. Rosales, History Professor. Two panel discussions will follow which will include some of our local prominent attorneys, courtroom commissioners, and judges who will share valuable insight. The conference will wrap up with a presentation by a Santa Clara Law School Admissions Representative. The event will close with free lunch and an internship fair where students will be able to network with local law firms for potential internship opportunities.
This event is free & open to the public. Please RSVP by April 19th at the following link: https://www.bakersfieldcollege.edu/prelaw/law-day-2017-registration.
