Students from around the world are eligible to attend and enroll at Bakersfield College.
On behalf of Bakersfield College (BC), we would like to welcome you to our campus and community. We hope that you will find this website, designed for international students, a helpful resource guide as you navigate your education in the United States.
At Bakersfield College, you will receive a quality education on a friendly campus with small class sizes, lower tuition costs, advanced technology, and outstanding teaching faculty. Bakersfield College offers lower division university-level courses equivalent to the first two years of a university (four-year) degree.
The dedicated International Student Affairs (ISA) staff provides assistance with admission and enrollment information, the new F-1 student orientation, immigration advising, academic advising, class registration and the transfer process. Students graduate from Bakersfield College with an Associate of Science for Transfer (AST) degree, Associate of Arts for Transfer (AAT) degree, or a Certificate of Achievement.
Many qualified students who graduate from Bakersfield College are eligible to transfer to a university after completing 60 units of semester credits towards their undergraduate program. The Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) is offered for ease of transfer to many of the University of California (UC) campuses. The Associate for Transfer degree offers the same opportunities for students wishing to transfer to the California State University (CSU) campuses. For students wishing to stay in the local area, Bakersfield College has a close partnership with California State University Bakersfield (CSUB).
