Summer Book Advances are available to qualifying students during the first week of the Summer 2016 semester. Only one Book Advance application will be accepted during the semester. Book Advances are not free or additional funds; they are an advance of your anticipated financial aid and are for your educational expenses only. Please read the eligibilty requirements and submit a completed application to the Office of Financial Aid (application is the last page of the document.)
In order to protect your identity and information, the Office of Financial Aid is available to answer general questions, however, any inquiries regarding your financial aid will require a Photo ID.
Please be advised that beginning with FALL 2015 there will now be three(3) Pell Grant disbursements for Pell eligible students. Please review the attached document for further details on how this will effect you this coming school year. PELL GRANT DISBURSEMENT

Want to know your status? Check your insideBC account for your 2016-17 Financial Aid Status. Verify if there is any additional paperwork that you will need to submit for the coming year. If it does not give you an option to check your 2016-17 status, please verify that your 2016-17 FAFSA was processed through www.fafsa.ed.gov. Remember: It is your responsibility to be sure you have submitted all required documentation in a timely manner!
Did you update your Board of Governor's Fee Waiver (BOGFW)? Check your insideBC Student Account Summary to verify if the 2016-17 Board of Governor's Fee Waiver has been processed. Please allow 24 hrs from the time that classes are officially added for the fee waiver to process. If you do not see the BOGW on your list of awards on your insideBC summary then you should complete the paper application and return it to the Office of Financial Aid within 10 days of enrolling in classes, or you could risk being dropped for non-payment.
The 2015-16 BOGW application is still available for Summer 2016, if you are a new student this summer. Return the completed application to the Office of Financial Aid, preferably prior to registration.
Payments will be sent out the way that you selected through your OneCard registration. Either posted to the OneCard, electronically transferred to the bank that you selected or by paper check.
If you would like to have your financial aid check cashed, the US Bank branch at 4550 Coffee Road (Coffee at Hageman) welcomes your business. They ask you call first to ensure prompt service when you arrive. The US Bank phone number is 661-588-6403 and you can speak to anyone who answers. Make sure you tell them you wish to cash your Bakersfield College financial aid check with them.
