Phlebotomy Training Program Information Session

Bakersfield College is collaborating with AUMT Institute to bring you the Phlebotomy Training Program. Graduates of this program are prepared for an entry-level career in:

  • Hospitals
  • Clinics
  • Medical Laboratories
  • Primary Care Offices

No medical experience is required. Upon completing externship hours, students are eligible to take the National Examination to earn their CPT-1.

Program Schedule

  • 8 week Program
  • Saturdays -July 27 through September 21 (No class on August 31st)
  • 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
  • National Exam on September 28, 2019

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a High School diploma, HiSET or Equivalency
  • No history of Felonies (Misdemeanors may cause denial of your License application – see CA Dept. of Public Health for details)
  • Mandatory Orientation
  • Background check, drug screen, and immunizations
  • Current CPR from American Heart Association for Health Care Providers(can be obtained during program)

Program Tuition

$1950.00 TUITION INCLUDES:

  • 24 Hours of Basic Didactic Training
  • 24 Hours of Advanced Didactic Training
  • 40 Hours of Clinical Externship
  • Venipuncture practice
  • Textbook
  • All Material, Study Guides and Handouts
  • National Exam Preparation

Additional Costs to Students

  • $117 National Exam Fee
  • $100 CA State CPT-1 Application
  • Scrub Uniforms
