The One Book Project is a community-wide reading and discussion project that focuses on developing community through literacy. Each year, the project focuses on a general social cultural topic and uses a common reading and community to events in engage in the topic. For this year, we are inviting everyone to read and discuss the themes of immigration and assimilation. As part of this project, BC is fortunate to host the kickoff event!
Our Kickoff Event: The Rose That Grew from Concrete will be our entry point to the months’ long series of events discussing these topics. Please join us on this day to hear about our upcoming events, community resources for our first-gen and Dreamer communities, and through The Rose That Grew from Concrete, we have the honor of hearing personal narratives from BC first-generation students, Dreamers, and other BC community members as they share with us their “blossom from the concrete.” We hope to see you there!
