The BC Jazz Ensemble directed by Kris Tiner presents a program of classic and modern works for big band. a concert of works for big band on themes of freedom, social justice, and civil rights. Featuring jazz tributes to Martin Luther King, John Brown, Desmond Tutu, and the Liberian Centennial, with music by Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Oliver Nelson.
