Author Gabriel Thompson will be giving a talk on his recent book "America's Social Arsonist: Fred Ross and Grassroots Organizing in the Twentieth Century". This talk is part of "Energizing Humanities in California's San Joaquin Valley", sponsored by the Bakersfield College Social Justice Institute, Levan Center for the Humanities, and National Endowment for the Humanities.
Gabriel Thompson is a Steinbeck Fellow in Creative Writing at San Jose State University. He is the author of several books and has written for Harper's, New York Magazine, Slate, Mother Jones, Virginia Quarterly Review, and The Nation.
This event is free and open to the public, and free parking will be provided the night of the event. Doors open at 6:30 PM.
