CANCELLED: CPR, AED and First Aid Training

With more than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occurring in the United States annually, bystanders are the key to increasing survival rates! This course will teach you how to respond to emergencies that happen at work, at home and in your community.

Classes are for current Spring 2020 Bakersfield College students, staff, and faculty only at this time. Register for a training session to equip yourself with the tools to save a life!

NOTE: this course will not meet the 1 Unit PE Requirement for BC General Education nor the CPR/First Aid/ AED requirement for the AA-T in Kinesiology. If you are interested in completing the 3-unit CPR/First Aid and AED course for the AA-T in Kinesiology, please go to the Kinesiology AA-T page under Health Sciences in the BC Program Mapper.

What to Expect

Through this Emergency Medical Safety Services (EMS Safety) lecture, along with videos and hands-on practice, you will be able to respond confidently to emergency situations. All EMS Safety training programs are OSHA-compliant and have been reviewed and approved by federal, state, local and private organizations. Skills and topics include:

  • Adult
  • Child
  • Infant CPR & AED Use
  • Adult, Child and Infant Choking
  • Bleeding Control, Bandaging and Splinting
  • Head-to-Toe Injuries
  • Cold and Heat Related Emergencies
  • Epinephrine Auto-Injector
  • And many more!

Where to Find Grace Van Dyke Bird Library

The Grace Van Dyke Bird Library is located south of the P1 and P2 parking lots on the north side of the Panorama Campus, right next to the main drop-off area near the Administration Building (see circled area in the map below).
