A Mathematician's Lament...A Summary and Thoughts

This session is based on the critique of K-12 math education found in Paul Lockhart's compelling tome, A Mathematician's Lament. I will summarize the major points of his book and lead a discussion on how his observations align with our own. This is open to all disciplines with a keen interest in letting the wonder and awe intrinsic in our own academic fields drive our instructional practices
