With the passage of AB 341 on Oct. 6, 2011, businesses are required to recycle. The purpose of this law is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by diverting commercial solid waste to recycling efforts. Therefore, Bakersfield College has adopted green practices throughout their business operations in order to reduce our environmental impact on the surrounding community.

We believe it is our responsibility to educate on the importance of sustainability and inspire student engagement on campus and throughout the greater community on sustainability initiatives.
