Workshop

Join us at Bakersfield College for a workshop focused on learning more about the requirements of AB 705 (Irwin). The AB 705 Implementation Committee is working with Vice Chancellor Laura Hope (California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office) to unveil the preliminary guidance to the field for implementing this legislation. We will hear from members of the AB 705 Implementation Committee regarding how to use data to come into compliance with AB 705.

The morning will feature a plenary session with many on the implementation team. The afternoon will be focused on teams, as we work through exercises and data that are a challenge for implementation. We will wrap up with a discussion of common concerns and shared solutions so that we leave with a plan to come into AB 705 compliance.

Each CCC in the Central Valley Higher Education Consortium is invited to bring a team of seven to ten members. Recommended team membership includes the college’s CEO, CIO, CSSO, a researcher, counselor, English faculty member, math faculty member, and your basic skills initiative coordinator or specialist.
