A Celebration of Gandhi

The Renegade family is coming together to celebrate the 150th birthday of civil rights leader Mahatma Gandhi with a series of special events and contests throughout Kern County.

Tribe to Gandhi Essay Contest

The Gandhi Celebration Celebration Committee and the Ravi and Naina Patel Foundation invited all Kern County students to submit an original essay of approximately 750 words based on their interpretation of Gandhi's quote, "an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind." The winner of the contest received a $1000 stipend, and second place received $500.
