Bakersfield College

The Student Government Association (SGA), the voice of the students at Bakersfield College, is the centralized, representative body for student government. Serving as one of the governing bodies at Bakersfield College, the SGA meets with key administrators and approves policies in support of an active, academically enriched, social student environment. SGA provides student representation on all campus committees, boards, and councils. Many college activities such as Homecoming, Welcome Week, Club Week, and Spring Fling are also sponsored by SGA. In addition, SGA regulates the clubs on campus to ensure that a high level of professionalism is maintained.

Every student at Bakersfield College is a member of the Student Government Association (SGA). Seven elected officers and eighteen senators run programs, services and advocacy efforts for the benefit of all students. SGA's goal is to organize and support students in creating distinctive community, co-curricular and academic experiences; identify and voice students' hopes and concerns; engage students in campus activities and decision-making; build mutually beneficial partnerships with individuals and organizations on and off campus and promote and defend students' welfare. SGA is interested in hearing from students who have recommendations for improving the life of students. Look us up in CC4, on Facebook or on the College's website.
