Benchmarks are aggregations of Means from 6-9 different questions on the survey and are based on student engagement research
Scores for the 699 participating colleges were standardized with a mean of 50 weighted by full- and part-time attendance status with a standard deviation of 25. This allows comparisons across benchmarks and to other institutions.
