Swine Production - 3

Application of the principles of nutrition, physiology, and herd selection, breeding, and marketing to swine production and management. Structure of the industry, enterprise establishment, systems of production, production practices and herd improvement programs will be discussed. Evaluation of production responses and economic returns will be defined analyzed, and applied. Recommended: Reading level 5 or 6 and H.S. Algebra with a grade of “C” or better. Hours: 36 lect, 54 lab. Field trips required. CCS: Occupational Education. Transferable: CSU and private colleges.
