Tutor Training and Practicum - 1

This course is designed for returning tutors to build tutoring skilss. Essential human relations skills and methods of effective tutoring, placing these skills into practice with tutees referred by the Tutor Coordinator. STudent may be referred by subject area instructor(s). Prerequisite: Minimum grade of 'B" in subject to be tutored or approval of subject area instructor or evaluation of prerequisites by the Tutor Trainer and/or Tutor Coordinator. Recommended: Reading Level 6. Repeat:3. Hours: 9 lect/disc, 27 supervised tutoring. Offered: F, S. CCS: Liberal Arts and Sciences. Transferable: CSU and private colleges.
